Who is obliged to use the Virtual Tax Office?
In all cases, the following subjects will be obliged to use electronic means, via the Virtual Tax Office, to perform any stage of an administrative procedure:
a) Legal persons.
b) Entities without legal personality.
c) Anyone who performs a professional activity which requires obligatory membership of a professional association, for the procedures and actions performed with the Town Council, in the exercising of that professional activity. In all cases, this collective will be understood to include notaries public and land and company registrars.
d) Anyone who represents an interested party who is obliged to communicate electronically with the Administration.
e) The employees of the Town Council, for procedures and actions performed with them in their capacity as public employees.
What procedures can I complete in the new tax portal?
Check taxable items: property, vehicles, economic activities and taxes.
Check rural plots included in the Rural Property Tax.
Check files and notifications.
Check repossessions.
Simulate the Tax on Increase of Value of Urban Land (IIVTNU) and the Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO).
Obtain certificates of being up to date with payments.
Perform direct operations and transactions: set up direct debits for taxes, modify personal and contact data, receive electronic notifications, submit applications in general, request postponements, instalment plans and personalised payment plans, lodge appeals, registering powers of attorney, register automatic payments for vehicles and payment of fees and taxes required by this system, request appointments and pay taxes.
What procedures will not require a digital certificate?
Pay debts with the data from the deposit document.
Check information on directdebit charges, introducing the value identifier and the taxpayer’s identifierof the charge being checked.
Check information relating to frozen accounts and/or refunds from the Tax Authorities.
Check detailed information onthe plots of land included in a value of Rural Property Tax, introducing the valueidentifier and the taxpayer’s identifier of the payer of the charge being checked.
Obtain duplicates of payment documents of charges within the set payment period.
Verify electronic documentsby means of Secure Verification Code (SVC).
Calculate and submit automatic payments of fees and vehicle charges.
Simulate the calculation ofcapital gains (IIVTNU).
What is a digital certificate?
This is a digital document that identifies people on the Internet. It contains our identifying data which are authenticated by an official body. Digital certificates enable electronic signing of documents in a manner that verifies the identity of the person
What procedures will require a digital certificate?
Check your outstanding,paid and cancelled bills (within the payment period, late payments and in surchargeproceedings).
Pay your outstanding bills.
Obtain receipts for yourpaid bills.
Obtain duplicates of payment documents of bills within the payment period.
Check your administrativeprocedures and their processing status.
Receive and sign for notifications electronically (this procedure requires the citizen’s electronic signature) and check the notifications considered sent by electronic means.
Check frozen accounts and/or refunds from the Tax Authorities.
Submit applications, appeals and/or documentation. This procedure also requires the citizen’s electronic signature.
Consult and verify electronic documents by means of Secure Verification Code.

Is it secure to perform procedures via the Virtual Tax Office?
Yes, it is totally secure. The entire digital process complies with the European security regulations. The entire portal is hosted in a secure setting, and card payments are made via your bank’s secure gateway. Procedures which require a digital certificate guarantee that it is the citizen who is performing the procedure.
How do I know if my procedure has been completed successfully?
The Virtual Tax Office will automatically issue an acknowledgement of receipt of the application or appeal, certifying the date and time of receipt and an identifying number of the annotation.
The Virtual Tax Office will be equipped for the reception and issuance of electronic documents and will be regulated by the official date and time of the Royal Spanish Navy Observatory.
Do online and presential submissions have the same effects?
Actions carried out with the Virtual Tax Office via the Internet have the same validity as if they were performed in person
